How to Remove All Facebook Friends Without Repeating Every Click

Clearing a Facebook friends list means repeating the same action for every person: open a menu, choose Unfriend, and confirm. If you have already decided to remove everyone, the repetitive part is the clicking.

The desktop workflow in my video walkthrough uses a browser script to handle those steps. You load the friends list, confirm that you want to proceed, and check the result afterward. The script adds its own panel to the page; it is not a built-in Facebook bulk-removal feature.

Decide what you want to remove

This workflow removes friendships from your account. It does not delete anyone’s Facebook account, and it does not choose which relationships you should keep.

If you want to keep some friends, do not start the bulk removal. This version has no selection controls for keeping particular people. The decision to clear the list comes before the automation.

You will need Facebook open in a desktop browser, access to your own account, and the script used in the walkthrough. Set Facebook’s language to English so the interface matches the demonstration. Use only code you understand and trust.

Open the script on your Friends page

  1. Open your Facebook profile and go to Friends, where your existing friends are listed.
  2. Right-click the page and choose Inspect. On Windows, you can also use Ctrl + Shift + I or F12.
  3. Select Console.
  4. Copy the complete script and press Ctrl + V to paste it.
  5. If the browser shows the paste warning from the demonstration, review the code before proceeding. To continue, type allow pasting, press Enter, and paste the script again.
  6. Press Enter to run the script.

A panel titled Friends Deleter appears. Opening the panel does not start removing friends. You control when scrolling and removal begin.

Load the list before starting removal

Click Start Scroll. The page moves down to load more friends, and the LOADED counter updates as the script detects friend entries.

Let this stage finish before starting removal. If you need to interrupt the scrolling, click Stop Scroll.

The script finishes scrolling when the detected count stops changing across repeated checks. That is a useful stopping point, but it does not prove that Facebook has loaded every friend. A slow page or a changed layout can leave entries undetected. Check that the list has loaded as expected before continuing.

Confirm the removal once

Click Delete All Friends only when you intend to remove the friendships. A confirmation window asks whether you want to continue. Click OK to start, or cancel to leave the removal unstarted.

The script then works through the detected entries, opening their menus and confirming the unfriending actions. You do not need to repeat those clicks for each person.

The DELETED counter shows the actions the script has processed. Keep the page open and watch its status while it runs.

To stop further removals, click Stop Delete. An action already underway may finish before the script stops. The button does not undo removals that have already happened.

Reload Facebook to check what remains

When the process finishes, reload the page and return to your friends list. This check matters more than the panel’s completion message.

The counter is the script’s record of the actions it processed, not an independent confirmation from Facebook that every friendship is gone. If the refreshed list still contains friends, the task is not finished, even if the panel displayed a finished message.

Look at what remains before trying again. If the page did not finish loading, allow it to load. If the script no longer recognizes the friend entries or their menus, stop and check the interface rather than repeatedly starting deletion. If Facebook displays a restriction or error, stop the automation and follow the platform’s instructions.

Use the controls for the job they do

The four controls separate preparation from removal:

  • Start Scroll: load more friend entries by scrolling.
  • Stop Scroll: interrupt that loading stage.
  • Delete All Friends: start the removal process after confirmation.
  • Stop Delete: request that further removal actions stop.

This workflow depends on Facebook’s page layout and controls. Changes to that interface can affect whether it works. Use it only on an account you are authorized to manage and in accordance with Facebook’s rules; it is not a guarantee against account restrictions.

The practical benefit is fewer repeated clicks while you remain responsible for the decision and the final check. If you want to see where each control appears and how the process looks on screen, watch the walkthrough alongside these steps.
