When One Random Thought Takes My Whole Day
Some sudden thoughts
How a Small Memory Can Make Me Forget Everything Around Me
Sometimes I wonder how my mind works. I can be doing the most ordinary things in the world and suddenly remember something that happened months or even years ago. There is no reason for it. Nobody mentions it. I don't see anything related to it. It just comes into my mind out of nowhere.
And somehow I stop doing whatever I was doing.
I might be sitting with my phone in my hand or trying to finish some work. Everything seems normal until one little thought takes me somewhere else. Suddenly I am remembering a conversation or a random moment that I didn't even think was important at the time.
The strange part is that I don't always want to remember it. It just happens.
My Mind Has It’s Own Timing:
I have noticed that the more I try to stop thinking about something the more my mind finds a way to bring it back. I tell myself that it is just a thought and I should move on. I remind myself that I have things to do. I even put my phone aside and try to focus.
Yet a few minutes later I am thinking about the same thing again.
