Shopping for food outside the corporate system. Not bad for Wisconsin in late March.

I recently decided to try and come up with 12 things everyday which demonstrate my resistance to the fascist government I live under and the transnational cabal of corporations that seek to turn the world into a mix of The Matrix and the Borg. It wasn’t a very good day for me, but the more I reflect on it the more things I notice I did that ran contrary to the Borgtrix, if I may use that term. I ate some pumpkin bread which was locally made and was purchased at the farmers market last year. Spinach and lettuce which I bought from the local Amish served as the base of the salad I had for lunch, which also included microgreens and mushrooms grown by people nearby. My snack was an apple from last fall’s harvest grown in a nearby town and sold to me by the person who owned the tree it came from. Our dinner tonight was sandwiches and chips which I purchased from a store run by Mennonites. I just finished hanging my clothes on a drying rack instead of using the dryer. I write to you now about my desire to find meaningful alternatives to the nightmare timeline in which we find ourselves.

Tiny actions, for sure, and yet I am undeniably taking a certain amount of my money out of the hands of the big businesses that together are part of a world-wide syndicate that exploits laborers, destroys the environment, and purchases our government and subverts democracy.
