Let’s See if You Can Solve This!
A man buys 11 oranges for ₹10 and later sells 10 oranges for ₹11.
Can you figure out whether he made a gain or a loss? And by how much?
At first glance, it may seem like he’s making a profit — but is he really?
To solve this problem we we need to find out cost price ( per orange) and selling price ( per orange)
Cost price is the amount of money he spends to buy oranges and the selling price is the amount he earns after selling oranges
Men buys 11 oranges for 10 rs.
it means he buys each orange for 10 /11 rs that is approx 1.1 rs
He sold 10 oranges for 11 rs ,
Earning per Orange is 11/10 rs that is approx 0.909 rs
So, the cost price of orange is 1.1 rs per Orange
And selling price is 0.909 rs per Orange

Since the selling price is greater than the cost price , the man earns more money than he spent.
This means he makes a profit.
Total Profit= selling price - cost price
= 1.1- 0.909
=0.191 rs
Let’s find how much percentage he gained
Formula for profit percentage
= ( Total profit/ cost price) × 100
= (0.191/0.909) × 100
= 0. 2101× 100
Answer= 21.01%
