A well-known food factory in KZN is looking to hire a skilled Food Technologist on a permanent basis. This is not a contract or short-term gig. This is a real long-term role inside the Manufacturing and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector. The chosen person will receive a monthly pay of R20 833 to R25 000.

In South Africa, food safety is not just paperwork. Every product that leaves the factory must be safe, correctly labelled, and consistent. That is where a Food Technologist comes in. You become the link between what the client wants, what the factory can produce, and what the law requires.
This factory works with tight food safety controls, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), ISO for Food Safety, and FSSC (Food Safety System Certification).

Your day will not be boring. You will be part of both Quality and Product Development. You will create new food items and make current items better, carry out taste checks, shelf life checks and stability studies. You will manage quality from raw material to finished goods, draft product specs and Bill of Materials, verify food labels as per SANS and Department of Health rules, and coach factory workers on GMP.
Who Should Apply?
- Must be a South African citizen with valid SA ID
- Must have Matric and National Diploma in Food Technology or Food Science
- Understands HACCP, ISO, FSSC, SANS labelling and food legislation
- Has practical exposure in NPD, sensory evaluation and shelf life studies
- Lives in KZN or willing to relocate
- Must have no criminal record
