8 AI Video Models, 1 Prompt: Why the Cheaper One Won
One $8 clip lost to a $1.60 clip. Here’s what a side-by-side test of eight models means for your budget.
The result that caught my attention
One expensive AI video model, at almost $8 per clip, lost to a model that costs a fraction of that.
I came across a side-by-side test where a creator gave eight AI video models the exact same prompt. I’m not the person who ran it, and I want to be clear about that. But the results taught me something useful about paying for AI video, so I broke the test down and added my own analysis.
I think it matters because most people choose video models by price or hype. This test suggests neither is a reliable guide.
How the test worked
All eight models ran on one platform, Higgsfield, which puts many video models in a single picker. That kept the comparison fair.
The task: a yarn puppet named Henry, who has an office job, gets an email and destroys his office in a rage.
The reference: a character sheet image of Henry (yarn hair, purple tie, yellow pocket square). Every model got this image so Henry would look the same in every clip.
