You get up, you get out of bed, do your duties, communicate, and go about your daily routine. On the surface, everything is normal. But on an inner level, there is a change.

You are not unhappy. You are not angry or displeased. Not even the things that would normally make you happy seem to be able to attract your interest.

You may laugh at someone else’s joke, but it will not make you happy. You may socialize with people, but you would feel somehow detached from it. You can accomplish something that is quite important for you, yet you cannot understand why you feel indifferent about it.

And what is the most strange? You have no idea why. This phenomenon is called emotional emptiness or emotional numbness. It may occur at times of stress, exhaustion, overload of emotions, or difficulties on a psychological level.

But what makes it appear when there is nothing obviously wrong with you? The answer may lie somewhere in the connection between your emotions, your experiences, and the reaction of your mind to various aspects of life.
