Clearing
The cobwebs.
Clearing out the cobwebs,
Cleaning up the place,
Down below and up the stairs,
Doing it with grace.
There’s always time for pantomime,
Refreshing what is lost,
And to write it down in rhyme,
Considering the cost.
It may be basic housework,
Or clearing the decks,
And it’s best to never shirk,
Deleting the wrecks.
It sometimes is unsavoury,
Some people rebel,
And it can be a little blurry,
With some show and tell.
The weight is on my shoulders,
Now I own the group,
With all the stakeholders,
Assembled in the troop.
I favour the fair-minded,
And those with manners too,
And to stay sharp-sighted,
And keep us all on cue.
Some will test my patience,
And then it’s up to me,
And to understand the presence,
And to set some free.
Clearing out the cobwebs,
Summer, spring or fall,
And dealing with the dregs,
And that’s not all.
