Stitch vs. Lovable: The Generative UI Showdown
A first-sight winner, a sudden change of heart, and the fascinating reality of building products with generative AI.
A few days ago, I decided to run an experiment. I wanted to design a mobile app for managing and styling a personal wardrobe. The idea was simple: whenever I buy a new clothing item, I upload a photo, and the app stores it in my digital wardrobe. I gave the exact same prompt to Google Stitch and Lovable, then compared their designs.
At first glance, I had a clear winner. Lovable seemed to understand exactly what I wanted to build. But when I started exploring Stitch’s design, something unexpected happened. It had introduced features I was already planning to add in future iterations, even though I hadn’t mentioned them in the prompt.
That made the comparison much more interesting. One tool followed my brief more closely, while the other…
