It became obvious a while back that Sean “Diddy” Combs is a major douchebag. It would be difficult for anybody to dispute that statement. But would he mend his ways and earn the 15% reduction in prison time offered all federal inmates who are sentenced to serve over a year? Some people might want to know.

Diddy has answered that question emphatically. And the answer is no.

Anybody who has never served federal prison time might wonder what it takes to earn that “good time” (what the 15% off is called in the clink). Does an inmate have to salute officers, address them as sir or ma’am, or lick their boots every morning?

Hardly. All a prisoner has to do is stay out of fights, stay away from drugs, and not have a private cell phone. It’s not all that hard.

During my year (less 15%), I never got high even once. Not having my wits about me didn’t seem to be a great idea given the environment. I did not fight, and for $1000 (the price one of the corrupt officers was selling them for), I didn’t feel the need to have my own cell phone.

In fact, because I worked two jobs and read half the library, officers would comment on what a model inmate I was. I don’t know about all that. When it came to being that model inmate, I didn’t have much…
