Our Love Intact
I love my job.
One of my favorite parts is how close I am to the people I work with.
Sometimes being the boss can feel lonely. But with this crew? Not at all.
My office is always full. Of children. Of coworkers.
And I love it.
Until I need to get some work done.
Every day around lunch, a crew gathers in my office, and we sit and talk. I love that my young coworkers want to spend time with this old lady.
It brings me great joy.
We usually find a moral question on Google and discuss it. And it’s so interesting to hear the different perspectives of people I genuinely respect.
Recently, the question was something like this:
If you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that someone in prison had been completely reformed-that they would never commit another crime-should they still have to finish their sentence?
And the six or seven of us sat and debated.
It’s fascinating.
And, of course, I always think my opinion is right.
They think theirs is right, too.
So we defend our positions. We explain our reasoning. We offer our perspectives.
