What Scares Me More Than Ghosts?
I used to think ghosts were terrifying… until life showed me something far more frightening.
I have never seen a ghost. But I have seen people I once knew so well turn into strangers. I have watched promises fade, dreams slowly disappear, and sometimes, I have smiled even when there was so much going on inside me that I couldn't explain. And honestly, all of that scares me more than ghosts ever could.
But you know what scares me the most?
The thought of waking up one day and realising that I spent my whole life just existing, instead of actually living.
Sometimes, I feel like I worry too much about what others think of me. I try to keep everyone happy, even when it means putting my own happiness aside. I keep telling myself that I'll do the things I love when the time is right.
But what if that time never comes?
What if I keep waiting for tomorrow until I realize I've run out of tomorrows?
That thought genuinely scares me.
I'm scared of the conversations I keep postponing. The apologies I want to make but never find the courage to. The feelings I hide because I don't know how to express them.
