Aging, Retirement & Menopause Made Time Our Enemy
Too much time, thanks to aging and retirement, is becoming a problem for many retirees.
As a child, I couldn’t wait to grow up. Having a mother who couldn’t love me, I didn’t want to stay a child in a life packed with hunger, pain, cruelty, and thoughtlessness. I was forced to grow up fast thanks to poverty, hunger, and pain, which gave me an impatient life. Making adult decisions as a child. I was so busy fighting life that puberty passed me by.
That was a good thing. Always hungry, with limited opportunities, and hell, I couldn’t afford the consequences of puberty. I have witnessed the side effects of puberty on other children, and I am glad it personally passed me by.
I got married and had children, and I couldn’t wait for them to grow up. I enjoy my time with them, but I do have days when I want a break. Life might give fathers a break; it doesn’t give mothers that choice. I don’t get parent or mother vacation, sick days, or personal days. No time off either. I couldn’t wait until they became adults to get my life back.
Overwhelmed with life and pain, many of us would go back to childhood, if we can.
