Time Never Lies
Because time reveals what words often hide.
We have a beautiful talent for believing in people, even when their actions give us every reason to stop. We turn unanswered messages into understandable explanations, cancelled plans into temporary circumstances, and broken promises into stories that help us sleep peacefully at night. We tell ourselves they are busy, life is difficult, and things will be different tomorrow. The truth can wait, we think, because hope feels gentler than disappointment. Yet somewhere between the excuses we make for others and the promises we make to ourselves, life continues to move forward, taking with it the moments we thought we could always have later.
The truth is, people rarely run out of time for everything. They run out of time for certain things.
I learned that time is more than the hours on a clock. It is attention, affection, effort, and the willingness to make room for something beyond ourselves. We find time to watch another episode, scroll through another page, meet someone who makes us laugh, or spend an entire evening doing something that brings us joy.
