About ARGOS Identity
ARGOS Identity makes two products: ARGOS ID Check for identity verification (KYC/eKYC) and ARGOS Omni, a Review Ops Agent that reviews documents and data case by case.
ARGOS ID Check combines ID document recognition and authenticity checks (OCR, MRZ and driver's license PDF417 barcode checks, ID liveness against photocopies and screen replays), selfie-to-ID face comparison, passive and active liveness that detects photos and deepfakes, and AML screening against sanctions and PEP lists with ongoing monitoring. It covers 4,000+ ID document types, including passports, national IDs, driver's licenses and residence permits, from 200+ countries. Teams ship it as a hosted Liveform (one URL, 26 languages, web and app WebViews) or build their own UI on the Verify engine APIs, and receive results by webhook, return URL or REST API. ARGOS Score thresholds and custom policy rules decide each case, and pending cases go to your team or ARGOS Expert Reviewer. ID Check is ISO/IEC 27001 certified.
ARGOS Omni is a Review Ops Agent for document and data review. Teams write their review criteria in plain language; Omni turns them into a playbook and, for each case, checks the submitted documents, extracts data into the output schema you define, cross-checks documents against each other and runs external lookups such as AML screening of people and companies. It returns verified, rejected or pending_review, and records the reason and source step behind every value. Use cases include KYB document review for business onboarding, vendor onboarding, corporate telecom subscription review, insurance claim review and AML review.

ARGOS Identity Product Features
AML
ARGOS ID Check includes AML screening: approved users are screened against sanctions and PEP lists and re-checked through ongoing monitoring, with results sent by webhook and AML reports available through the REST API. ARGOS Omni, a Review Ops Agent, adds AML screening to document review. Its AML Search - Person and AML - Business engines check the people and companies named in a case, the calls are recorded with the decision, and AML evidence PDFs are kept with the analysis. Cases that need judgment go to a person as pending_review, which suits AML case review with a human in the loop.
Biometric Authentication
ARGOS ID Check uses face biometrics in two places. At onboarding, it compares a live selfie with the photo on the ID and runs passive and active liveness to stop photos and deepfakes, with face-duplication checks across submissions. After onboarding, the FaceAuth add-on re-verifies an approved user by comparing a new selfie with the selfie from their approved verification, so a returning user can be confirmed without another ID scan. FaceAuth results arrive by webhook, and its face images can be deleted through the API.
Data Extraction
ARGOS extracts structured data from documents in two products. ARGOS ID Check reads ID documents during verification, with OCR data extraction plus MRZ and driver's license PDF417 barcode checks. ARGOS Omni, a Review Ops Agent, reads business documents such as PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, images, CSV, HTML and email files, extracts the values defined in your output schema as JSON, cross-checks them across documents and records the reasoning and source step for each value. Results come back through the Omni REST API and a PDF report. The Textify OCR demo is still available for testing OCR and extraction on sample files.
Facial Recognition
ARGOS ID Check matches faces for identity verification. It compares the user's selfie with the photo on their ID document, checks with passive and active liveness that the selfie comes from a live person rather than a photo or deepfake, and runs face-duplication checks across submissions to catch the same face signing up twice. The FaceAuth add-on reuses the selfie from an approved verification to confirm the same person later. Face matching runs inside the hosted Liveform or through the Verify engine APIs, and results arrive by webhook and REST API.
Fraud Detection
ARGOS ID Check detects identity fraud at onboarding. It checks ID documents for forgery, uses ID liveness to catch photocopies and screen replays, and runs passive and active liveness on the selfie to reject photos and deepfakes. Proxy and VPN detection and device verification flag risky sessions, duplicate-signup detection compares name, date of birth, gender and nationality with earlier submissions, and face-duplication checks catch the same face signing up twice. After onboarding, the FaceAuth add-on re-verifies an approved user with a new selfie. ARGOS Score thresholds and custom policy rules decide each case, and the rest go to review as pending.
Identity Management
ARGOS ID Check covers the identity-proofing part of identity management: confirming that a new user is a real, live person who matches a genuine ID from one of 200+ countries, and screening them against sanctions and PEP lists with ongoing monitoring. After onboarding, the FaceAuth add-on re-verifies an approved user by comparing a new selfie with the selfie from their approved verification, without a new ID scan. Identity data is processed and stored in the region chosen for each project, and delete and partial-delete APIs handle GDPR and CCPA requests. ARGOS focuses on verification rather than login or access management.
Identity Verification
ARGOS ID Check is an all-in-one identity verification product: ID document recognition and authenticity checks, selfie-to-ID face comparison, passive and active liveness, and AML screening with ongoing monitoring in one flow. It covers 4,000+ ID document types from 200+ countries. Teams launch it as a hosted Liveform (one URL, 26 languages, web and app WebViews) or build their own UI on the Verify engine APIs, and receive approved, rejected or pending results by webhook, return URL or REST API. ARGOS Score thresholds, an automated-only mode and custom policy rules set how cases are decided. ID Check is ISO/IEC 27001 certified.
Intelligent Document Processing
ARGOS Omni is a Review Ops Agent for document review. Teams write their review criteria in plain language and define the JSON output they need; Omni turns the criteria into a playbook and, for each case, reads the submitted documents (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, images, TXT, Markdown, CSV, HTML, EML), extracts the values, compares fields across documents, checks that required entries are complete and decides verified, rejected or pending_review. Each extracted value carries its reasoning and source step, and results are available through the REST API and as a PDF report. Typical uses are KYB document review, vendor onboarding, corporate telecom subscription review and insurance claim review.
KYB (Know Your Business)
ARGOS Omni reviews KYB documents for business customer onboarding, such as B2B marketplace sellers or merchants. It is a Review Ops Agent: you write your KYB review criteria in plain language, and for each business it checks the submitted documents, for example a certificate of good standing, an IRS EIN notice and a beneficial ownership certification for a US company, extracts the company and owner details, checks them against each other and screens the business and its people against AML watchlists. Addresses can be validated in 40 regions. It returns verified, rejected or pending_review with the evidence, through the REST API and a PDF report.
KYC
ARGOS ID Check is a KYC/eKYC product and API. One flow combines ID document recognition and authenticity checks, selfie-to-ID face comparison, passive and active liveness, and AML screening against sanctions and PEP lists with ongoing monitoring. It covers 4,000+ ID document types from 200+ countries, including passports, national IDs, driver's licenses and residence permits. Teams use the hosted Liveform (one URL, 26 languages) or the Verify engine APIs, and get approved, rejected or pending results by webhook, return URL or REST API. ARGOS Score thresholds and custom policy rules decide each case, and the migration API imports existing verification records.
Liveness Detection
ARGOS ID Check runs liveness at two points. ID liveness checks that the ID is a physical document rather than a photocopy or a screen replay. Selfie liveness, both passive and active, checks that a live person is in front of the camera rather than a photo or deepfake, and the selfie is then matched to the ID photo. Liveness runs inside the hosted Liveform (26 languages, web and app WebViews) or through the Verify engine APIs, and the result arrives with the verification by webhook, return URL or REST API.
OCR
ARGOS reads text from IDs and business documents. ARGOS ID Check recognizes 4,000+ ID document types from 200+ countries, with OCR data extraction, MRZ checks and driver's license PDF417 barcode checks, and checks each ID for forgery during verification. For other documents, ARGOS Omni extracts text from PDFs, scans, images and office files and turns it into the structured fields you define, ready for review and decisions. The Textify OCR demo remains available for testing OCR and extraction on your own sample files.
RegTech
ARGOS Identity builds compliance tools for regulated onboarding and review. ARGOS ID Check handles customer identity verification (KYC) with AML screening and ongoing monitoring, per-project data residency, ISO/IEC 27001 certification, and delete and partial-delete APIs for GDPR and CCPA requests. ARGOS Omni, a Review Ops Agent, applies a team's written review criteria to each case, such as KYB document review or AML review, and records the rule, evidence and reason behind every decision, together with the playbook as it stood at run time. Cases that need judgment go to people as pending_review.

"Great solution and partner!" Posted 2025-02-28
Pros: Argos has been a great partner; they care about providing a tailored solution for our business and have been fast and precise when any adjustment is needed.
Cons: We don't have a specific pain point with Argos. If anything, and because of the nature of our business, we would like more flexibility in the reports we get from our panel. But saying that Argos has been open and acting fast on specific requests.
Overall: Argos is a great partner with the best product value we have encountered, complemented by a great team.
