Fill out forms automatically in Chrome

To reduce manual data entry and improve accuracy, you can use Chrome to automatically fill out online forms with saved info, like your name, passwords, addresses, and payment info. It can also use your name and email address from your Google Account and certain info from your Google Wallet. This provides an easy and complete filling experience.

To use autofill, make sure you’re signed in to your Google Account in Chrome.
Tip: Not all autofill features are available in all regions.

Add, edit, or delete your saved autofill info in Chrome

Important: The save and fill info setting is on by default for Google Password Manager, payments, contact info, identity docs, and travel. If you've turned the save and fill setting off, autofill won't work for that info.
If your payment method is saved in Google Wallet, you'll need to edit or delete it in Google Wallet.
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings Settings.
  3. Tap Payment methods or Addresses and more.
  4. Add, edit or delete info:
    • Add:
      1. At the bottom, tap Add.
      2. Select the type of info you want to add.
      3. Enter your details.
      4. At the bottom, tap Save.
    • Edit:
      1. Select the saved info you want to edit.
      2. To edit your info, authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
        • For Wallet-saved info: In a new tab, Chrome redirects you to Google Wallet to edit your info.
      3. Edit your info.
      4. Tap Done.
    • Delete: To delete the locally saved info in each category, swipe left.
      1. To bulk delete addresses, at the bottom, tap Edit.
      2. Select the saved info you want to delete.
        • For Wallet-saved info: In a new tab, Chrome redirects you to Google Wallet to delete your info.

If you add, edit, or delete info and you’re signed in to Chrome with your Google Account, your changes will also show up on your other devices where you’re signed in to Chrome with the same account.

Tips:

  • When you submit forms with new or updated info, Chrome may prompt you to save this data to your Google Wallet.
  • When you’re signed into your Google Account, address info is saved in your Google Account. All other info, like identification and vehicle information, is saved in your Google Wallet.
  • If Use passes across Google is turned off in your Google Wallet settings, your info is saved locally to your device.

Use autofill to fill out a form

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. Go to a website where you need to fill out an online form with contact, payment, or login info.
  3. Select a field in the form.
  4. Tap the saved info you want to autofill the form.

Tip: To find or edit your saved info, on your keyboard, at the top right, tap Expand .

Autofill your home, work, and email addresses from your Google Account

Important:

  • Make sure you’re signed in to Chrome with the Google Account where your home and work addresses are saved.
  • Confirm that your Google Account is filled out with complete home and work addresses. You can find and manage this in your Google Account settings.

You can directly fill your home and work address from your Google Account into online forms. With an address saved in Google Maps, you can complete forms faster.

To use this feature, tap on a home and work address field in an online form. Then autofill shows a suggestion from your Google Account.

Manage your home and work addresses

Your Google Account provides the home and work addresses that Chrome autofill suggests. You can find and manage it in your Google Account settings.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings Settings and then Addresses and more.
  3. You can:
    • Save and fill addresses: Turn Save and fill addresses on or off.
    • Add an address: At the bottom left, tap Add.
    • Update an address:
      1. Select the address you want to update.
      2. Tap Edit....
        • This redirects you to your Google Account page.
    • Remove an address:
      1. On the address you want to remove, swipe left.
      2. Tap Remove and then Remove address.
    • Bulk remove addresses:
      1. At the bottom right, tap Edit.
      2. Select the addresses you want to remove.
      3. Tap Delete and then Delete addresses.
Manage your name and email in your Google Account

To automatically fill out forms, Chrome uses your name and email from your Google Account.

When you first use this feature, Chrome shows a message that informs you how it works and how to manage your data in Chrome settings.

To use this feature, make sure:

  • You’re signed in to Chrome.
  • The “Save and fill addresses” is on.
    1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome Chrome.
    2. At the top right, tap More More and then Settings Settings and then Autofill and passwords.
    3. Tap Addresses and more.

Turn Save and fill addresses on or off. To manage your name and email:

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com.
  2. Tap Personal info and then Name & pronunciation or Email and then Save.

Tip: Any changes made to your information will be automatically updated across Chrome’s autofill settings.

If you have issues with Chrome not suggesting your saved info

  • In Chrome settings, make sure you turn on the “Save and fill” feature for the info that does not autofill.
  • To confirm the name and email shared from your Google Account for autofill, go to myaccount.google.com/personal-info.
  • To confirm that you’ve saved the info that doesn’t auto populate, tap More More and then Settings Settings and then Addresses and more or Payment methods.
  • To allow autofill to use info from Google Wallet, make sure Use passes across Google is turned on.
  • The website might not be secure enough to get this info from Chrome.
  • If the website is secure, Chrome might not detect certain fields in the form.

Delete your saved autofill form info in Chrome

To delete your addresses, payment methods, or other saved info in Chrome at the same time:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. Tap More More and then Delete Browsing Data.
  3. Choose a time range, like "Last hour" or "All time."
  4. Under "Advanced," select Autofill form data.
  5. Tap Delete Browsing Data.

Fill more fields with enhanced autofill

Important: Not all websites and forms are compatible with enhanced autofill.

With enhanced autofill, Chrome is able to autofill forms faster for you.

To use this feature, make sure you’re signed in to your Google Account in Chrome.

Turn Enhanced autofill on or off
Important: This setting is on unless you choose to turn it off.
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings Settings and then Addresses and more.
  3. Tap Enhanced autofill.
  4. Turn Enhanced autofill on or off.
Turn re-authentication on or off

For added protection when you access sensitive info, additional re-authentication is on by default, unless you turn it off. This setting requires you to use an additional log-in method, like your fingerprint, face, or other screen lock, when you access sensitive info.

If your device doesn't support biometrics, Chrome uses your default device screen lock like password or passcode instead.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings and then Addresses and more.
  3. Turn on Verify it’s you when filling sensitive info.
    • If you turn this setting off, you won't be prompted for a face or other screen lock when you autofill sensitive info.
