Animal Waste

These items are dropped directly from animals and require no crafting, just collecting. The easiest way to obtain a stable supply of animal waste is to create a small pen for the animal that produces the waste you want (3x3 is sufficient), and add hoppers underneath to collect all the drops into a chest. Drops are from standard Minecraft animals only unless noted otherwise.

Manure

Raw Manure is a new item that cows, sheep, horses, and llamas can drop. For now, only standard versions of these animals can drop our manure, so animals from mods like Better Agriculture and Animania will not. You can control the manure item's drop and despawn rates in the mod's configuration file (use the mod Options screen in Single Player).

Raw manure alone is a poor direct-use fertilizer but it is a critical ingredient for Raw Compost and Wet Dung blocks and it is the only animal waste that produces Waastis Eaticus Larvae that are required for Green Waste production. To help with manure storage, you can combine manure items into blocks of manure and blocks of blocks or dense blocks of manure.

Pinkly Poo of Rainbow Awesomeness

Pinkly Poo is one of the two magnificent raw products of pinkly sheep. It's so grandly great it has both the words "Awesome" and "Rainbow" right in its full name. Pinkly Poo is the stuff from which all other pinkly goodness grows and you should collect as much of it as you can. Pinkly poo will drop from standard pink sheep only.

Pinkly poo's simpliest use is as a direct-use crop and area super fertilizer-- use it to convert raw dirt blocks to grass, to fertilize 3x3 patches of crops at once, and to randomly spawn Albino Melon seedlings (on dirt or grass) and Wild Potato seedlings (on Dirty Dirt). There is no other way to get these two important seedlings initially; you'll need about a stack of pinkly poo to get a few of each seedling type. Unlike bonemeal and the other area fertilizers, pinkly poo only generates tall grass, alliums, and pink or white tulips regardless of your current biome. You can also use pinkly poo to harvest flowers including chorus flowers, vines, and lily pads.

In addition to using it as a fertilizer, you'll need pinkly poo to create other mod items including: Miracle Tree Grow, Pre-seeded Wheat and Wart Compost blocks, Whack-A-Leaf Sticks, Crop Flails, Pinkly Lilypads, and Rainbow Slurry. Rainbow Slurry is required to farm Albino Mycelium which produces Blessed Earth and Rainbow Wisps to make Mending Twine.

Toxic Manure

Toxic Manure, or pig waste, is a new drop from "the other pink animal." Its effect however, is likely to be the opposite of pinkly poo as it tends to poison or kill anything it touches, really dead. One exception to this poisoned touch is cactus; toxic manure acts like a bonemeal when applied to cactus.

Like regular manure, toxic manure is not a very effective direct-use fertilizer (having the same 1 in 8 chance of affecting the targeted plant or area), but you need it to create the really interesting stuff like Pig Slurry and various Sludge blocks including Condemned Earth and the horrendous Darkened Soul Sand. To help with manure storage, you can combine toxic manure items into blocks of toxic manure and blocks of blocks or dense blocks of toxic manure.

Moo Shroo Poo

Moo Shroo Poo is a direct-use super fertilizer dropped occasionally by Mooshrooms. Use it to fertilize a dirt or grass area with mycelium and fungi instead of tall grass and flowers. Use it to grow giant mushrooms in one application. You also need moo shroo poo to create Rainbow Slurry for Blessed Earth.

Dirt Dirt Moo-Shroo-Poo Applied

If you apply moo shroo poo directly to Pinkly Mushrooms planted on Albino Mycelium blocks, you have a 1 in 16 chance of growing a Giant Rainbow Mushroom.

Vermi Meal

Vermi Meal (vermimeal) is a collection of earthworm casings and other organic materials. Use it as a direct fertilizer as well as a super fertilizer enhancer called Vermi Cake. You get vermimeal by Earthworm farming with Green Waste; vermimeal is most abundant when you let the Green Waste ripen to its prime stage while surrounded by other earthworm-friendly biowaste such as Compost blocks. We recommend using a Squirmies Farm Box if you need very large quantities of vermimeal.

If you use it directly, vermimeal will act as bonemeal on regular grass blocks and crops and accelerate the curing of certain bio-waste products. For example, you can use vermimeal on Raw Compost blocks to speed the transition to productive Compost. You can use a dispenser to apply vermimeal for tree farming like you do with regular bonemeal.

Vermimeal is most powerful when you convert it to Vermi Cake (vermicake). To create vermicake, use the recipes shown below. You'll need to pack the vermimeal into Packed Vermimeal before making vermicake; packed vermimeal is also useful as a temporary storage mechanism for vermimeal.

You need Vermicake to make Rainbow Slurry and Rainbow Seeds; the vermicake recipe uses any dustDirt item and some sticky larvae droppings for binding.

Compost Blobs

Compost Blobs, or just compost, is this mod's primary renewable substitute for regular bonemeal. You get compost from breaking or uncrafting fresh Compost Blocks; each block gives you 9 blobs. You can use compost to fertilize plants, saplings, crops, and large flowers including chorus flowers. Compost is even effective on things like sugarcane, netherwart, water lilies, and vines. Compost should work on most mod-created plants and crops as well, provided they respond to direct application of bonemeal. Unlike standard bonemeal, you can use compost directly on a any dirt patch to convert it to grass immediately. You can also use fresh compost blobs to replenish aged Compost Blocks in place. Compost has no effect on beanstalk saplings or cacti.

Depleted Compost

Depleted compost blobs is what you harvest from an aged Compost Block. If applied like bonemeal, depleted compost works only 50% of the time and the set of plants and crops it affects is smaller than fresh compost; for instance, depleted compost does not work on netherwarts or vines. If you have a lot of depleted compost, you can refresh it by adding raw manure and earthworms.

Miracle Tree Grow

Miracle Tree Grow is a crafted super fertilizer that you use to grow trees in one go. If you apply it directly to a tree sapling or mushroom, you're very likely to get a fully grown tree or giant mushroom immediately. If you apply it to sugarcane, you'll get a giant cane at least 6 blocks tall. If you apply it to an area, you will get the effect of bonemeal except it will try to grow at least one biome-specific tree within the affected area (~8x8). Like all mod super fertilizers, you can apply tree grow to a plain dirt area to convert dirt to grass immediately. Has no effect on beanstalk saplings.

Supercharged!

You can create a supercharged variant of tree grow by combining four fertilizer items into one. Use the supercharged fertilizer to grow HUGE tree variants like jungle and spruce in one go from a single sapling. Note that you still need to ensure there is a 2x2 area around that single sapling. Has no effect on beanstalk saplings.

Fecundity Dust

Fecundity Dust is a super fertilizer enhancer. By itself fecundity dust does nothing, but you need it to create the other powerful mod fertilizers like Beanstalk Grow! and to help convert Albino Melon Seeds to Rainbow Seeds.

You will find fecundity dust in jungle temple loot chests and, occasionally, in the crown loot boxes of Beanstalks. If you have installed the VanillaFoodPantry mod, you can also create fecundity dust using the rare Red Wild Potato plant as shown below. If you need a lot of fecundity dust, you should setup a wild potato farm to supply the potatoes. Although you can grow red wild potatoes in any biome, you will be most successful in a Jungle or Jungle-like biome (hot and lush characteristics).

Sludge Renew!

Sludge Renew! is a super "anti-fertilizer" used to replenish slurry to Sludge blocks so they do not degrade to form Condemned Earth. You also use sludge renew to farm Dirty Dirt for use in wild potato farming and to create your first batch of Toxic Potatoes or Stunted Carrots. Note that you must use standard slime balls in the recipe for this anti-fertilizer.

Sludge Renew Recipe

Use Sludge Renew to convert regular crops like potatoes, carrots, and wheat into their toxic equivalents. This would be the only way to get your first seeds and tubers for all the mod's toxic crops if toxic crop crafting has been disabled. Tip: this is a fast way to obtain large quantities of Toxic Potatoes and Blighted Wheat as these two crops do not reproduce consistently when planted. To replenish farmland dirtied by sludge renew, apply lots of Earthworms or better yet harvest the Dirty Dirt for use in a wild potato farm.

In the example picture below where a bit of sludge renew! has been applied to the bottom right area, you can see the dirtied dirt and affected carrots.

Sludge Renew Contaminated Crops

Use sludge renew to grow giant cacti quickly (only works for standard Minecraft cacti). Giant cacti will typically grow 5-6 blocks from a single block plant, taller if the starting plant is mature at 3 blocks.

You can also use sludge renew to poison plants besides basic crops. You can poison saplings, tall flowers, other mod crops, tall grass, etc. These poisoned items are harmless and mostly useful for decoration. You'll need a silk touch enchanted tool to harvest.
