Rainbow Brewing

You can brew most Rainbow Slices into their potion equivalents including some effects that are not obtainable as potions in vanilla Minecraft. For example:

  • Damage Absorption
  • Damage Resistance
  • Haste
  • Max Health Increase
  • Knockback Resistance
  • Saturation
  • Luck

Brewing the rainbow slice into a potion allows you to create custom blends or Moonshine Tonics and to obtain required ingredients for other items like antitoxin and antibiotics which both need damage resistance potions.

Custom Potions

Almost none of these potions are beneficial to a player if consumed; in fact, most of them are downright deadly. The primary reason you would brew these potions is to customize ammunition like Tipped Arrows, Stone Marbles, and TnT Potatoes. Use them to easily create effective tailored-for-use ammo. The non-brewable potions are used to implement secondary attacks or effects of special mod weapons. Read the Curatives page for ways you can mitigate some of these potions' effects.

Icon Name Brew? Description
Fatigue N Secondary debuff caused by other potions like Sedation and Bludgeoned. While fatigued the target loses 10% attack speed, 10% movement speed, 10% attack damage, and 10% mining speed per severity level. Fatigue is almost always accompanied by the Jump Fail debuff. To counteract fatigue, try some strong Smelling Salts.
Jump Fail N Secondary debuff caused by X-Gravity and other potions that might trigger Fatigue. The inflicted target is unable to jump up whole blocks although movement up slabs, stairs, and other auto-assisted blocks is unaffected. Jump Boost will not negate this potion's effect; you need to remove the Jump Fail debuff itself.
Bleeding N Debuff inflicted by some Hacking swords and most Animus-tainted swords like the "Blooded" Fancii swords. A Sharpness IV or better enchanted Thirsty Crystal Sword can also inflict severe bleeding. Without a bandage or regeneration potion to mitigate its effect, bleeding will cause an inflicted player to become exhausted quickly and unable to regenerate health effectively for its duration. Entities that do not have natural health regeneration will begin to take damage from bleeding. A bleeding target also suffers some reduced movement and attack speed as well as a 25% reduced combat toughness. To stop bleeding use Bandages.
Shock N Secondary debuff triggered by some form of severe damage such as a Venom-laced hit or a deep Lacerating blow. While in shock the target loses 3 armor defence points, all combat toughness, 20% attack speed and 10% attack damage per severity level, and 25% move speed per severity level. If in deep shock, a player will become exhausted quickly and eventually blinded and immobilized.
Wound Infection Y Debuff inflicted by Stained Bone weapons, the Infused Oaken Sword, the Omnicubus, and Putridity-laced lingering clouds and projectiles. Causes ongoing weakness and slows down healing, sometimes significantly. Can be cleared quickly by taking an Antibiotic or applying a Medicated Bandage.
Laceration or Piercing N Accompanying damage debuff inflicted by projectiles and weapons laced with sharpened Flaked Obsidian. Lacerating will cause at least 1.5 hearts per sec in damage and causes an inflicted player to becomes exhausted quickly making health regen difficult. Laceration is very very short duration. A hit from the Extreme Diamond Sword for example, has lacerating for just 2 seconds; however, something like a Piercing Marble is particularly deadly as it can cause significantly more damage because its DPS can be multiplied up to 5x with an Power-enchanted Slingshot.
Venom Y A severe form of systemic poisoning; the longer the target is affected, the worse the damaging effects of this potion become. Inflicted with a Venomous Sword or a projectile tipped with brewed Venom Toxin. For a player suffering the effects of venom, it can take several minutes but death is certain unless the player arrests the venom in some way. Venom toxin accumulates making each subsequent exposure more critical in less time. Venom also slows down a player's health regeneration; high concentrations of venom blocks healing altogether. Players MUST take a Venom Antitoxin to purge their systems (death also works). Poisonous spiders, skeletons, and withers are immune to venom.
Pinkly Fury Y Dual-purpose potion brewed from Pinkly Eggs. For players, pinkly fury is a combat buff that increases attack damage by 25% per level, attack speed by 20% per level, and knockback resistance by 25% after level II. A player's critical hit chances are also slightly improved (3%) by the fury buff. For hostiles, pinkly fury is the Pinkly Egg in liquid form-- if inflicted it's gonna hurt, A LOT. Use to soak TnT potatoes to create a cheap alternative to Corrupt Eggnades or use to create tipped Arrows of Pinkly Pain to take on tough mobs from a safe distance. Drink some fury to take on mobs up close and personal.
Corrosion Y Debuff inflicted by Fetid Mulch, the "Blooded" Fancii swords, and corrosion laced lingering clouds and projectiles. Lowers the target's armor defense and combat toughness by 10% and 15% respectively. More importantly, corrosion causes the greater of 2pts or 3% damage per strength level to the target's held item and armor every 5 seconds. Leather armor is immune to this corrosion effect.
The Crazies Y A self-inflicted state of weirdness triggered when a player consumes fermented Stunted Carrots while under the influence of at least 4 other buff potions. While crazy, the target gains 25% movement and 20% attack speed but loses 5% attack damage including less knockback per attack and 10% overall armor defense. Incoming attacks may be more damaging although you won't really care at this point 'cuz you're nutso... Attack dodging chances are zero with the crazies in effect. The only reason to do this to yourself is to quickly amplify the killing power of a Drunken Crystal Sword.
X-Gravity N Debuff inflicted by several mod weapons, but specifically by the Grim Reaper Sword and by the Corrupted Ender Sword to endermen and endermen derivative mobs. The Pinkly Bossnade will also inflict this debuff against boss mobs. Prevents unassisted vertical movement. Greatly magnifies the effect of fall damage of any kind including walking off a single block. Ender pearling and teleporting very likely to result in death depending on the amplification of the potion. (For players, portal teleporting will not cause death.)
Burning Y [mc1.14] Debuff inflicted by projectiles shot from some beanstalk guardians. At levels over II burning can neutralize all normal fire resistance and inflict the same amount of damage as lava. You can create your own burning potion from Lava Sand and Dense Nether Dust.
Hell Fire N Debuff inflicted by the Hellfire Sword. Hellfire will burn all targets including mobs normally immune to fire and lava damage such as Nether mobs. Cannot be stopped by standing in water or in rain. If is the cause of death for any skeleton in the overworld, there is 90% chance the skeleton will be reborn as a blazing wraith.
Dousing N Protective buff granted to a player on use of a Lava Blade sword or a Hellfire sword. Protects the player from all sorts of fire and other burning damage for a few seconds once the blow lands.
Ender Fever N Debuff inflicted by the Corrupted Ender Sword to non-Enderman entities. Causes the target to teleport randomly with each teleport causing increased damage and the chance of jarring off pieces of equipment.
Steadfast Y Potion brewed by the Knockback Resistance rainbow slice. Gives the target a 25% chance to neutralize any knockback including knockback from direct arrow hits. For each level, the blocking chance is increased by 25%.
Miner Mayhem N [mc1.14] Buff granted to a player who eats Miner Stew. This buff allows players to mine at a level equal to or better than an Efficiency V enchanted tool with a Haste II beacon -- without requiring either a beacon or an enchanted tool! For example, a plain iron pickaxe will mine with the same production as an Efficiency V diamond pickaxe.
Stink Y Bored? Try brewing up a batch of Stink splash potions and targeting a single zombie surrounded by lots of his friends. Better yet, splash a skellie or witch with zombies nearby. Entertainment happens! On a more mundane note, use Stink potions to tip arrows or soak marbles you use to defend a village during raids or zombie sieges. The stinky ammo will turn the raiding party members against each other instead of your poor villagers.
Kabooom, Creeper in a Bottle Y ...WIP...Use to tip arrows and soak marbles, meatballs, and dud TnTatoes.
