Give before you take
136/300. Law of life
It’s a principle of life to give before you take and yet only a handful of us put it to mind. It’s as literal as it is written, “Give before you take.”
Maybe because the scripture says, “The violent taketh it by force.” so when we want or need things most times, we make demands of others. We ask and ask of them without thinking.
Now it might look like utter humility to ask politely and sincerely. But when you continuously ask things of others it begins to become a burden to them no matter how sincere you seen each time. This principle applies to whoever even if it’s not your friends.
If you want a favour from a higher up or you want mentorship from someone up there or you need guidance from anybody, it’s best and mostly wise to get something done for them first. You want a mentorship, do something for them. Design a flyer for free for them, offer to run errands for them, offer to do something they likely need help with for free. It’s a basic law.

Even when you cold DM or Warm DM prospects, you don’t go straight to demanding the pay for your service. You give them, it could be a compliment acknowledging what they are already doing, it could be offering a small package of your service for free. Whatever it is, you give to take.
If you want others to give you, if you want to recieve, you must also learn to give. It’s applicable anywhere. You want to get more, then give more. Not foolishly of course but enough to be thought of.
You want more followers, views, sales, etc, give more value. You want attention give curiosity. You want people to like you, give stories they can relate to, share bits of you.
To disarm a person try honesty.
It’s not rocket science. People will always lean towards honesty and vulnerability. It’s the reason one of the key things taught in branding and marketing is vulnerability. A content creator sells because they are vulnerable and share honest things. A brand markets properly because the filter is less and honest struggles are more resonant.
You give to recieve. You give to take.
Before you stretch forth your hands to take or ask, give!
