How Can I Mean Nothing to You, While You Still Mean Everything to Me?
There is something profoundly strange about loving someone who no longer holds you in the same place. How can someone occupy so much space within us, while they go about their days as though our existence has never meant anything at all?
Perhaps this is how feelings make fools of us. Feelings teach us to keep holding on to something that is slowly slipping away while the someone we hold no longer feels the need to stay.
I often wonder when my presence became ordinary to you. When did my name stop leaving an impression, while yours can still disturb the quiet I have so carefully built within myself?

How devastating it is to realize that someone can be so extraordinary in our lives, while we may never have been anything extraordinary in theirs.
There are so many things I wish I could tell you, yet none of them seem enough to explain how deeply a person can remain within another's heart. How difficult it is to turn something that still feels so close into nothing more than a memory that should have been left behind.
Perhaps the most painful part is not that you are no longer here, but that I still keep a place for you, while I have no idea whether I still have a place in your life.
And to this day, I have yet to understand how someone can remain everything to us, when we ourselves may have long since become nothing to them.
