Catharsis Chronicles/October Competition: The Missing Hour
The Time Thief
The hour you stole
There are 24 hours in a day
There can’t be 23, you say
But I know that I lost an hour,
Don’t ask me why, or even how?
When I met you, all time stood still
You knew how to entrap my will.
The clock hands moved at double speed,
Your presence filled an aching need.
We talked, and laughed, and danced in step,
With you I found a renewed pep.
I thought a soulmate I had found,
You captured me and had me bound.
One hour slipped by, and so did you,
For in your presence all time flew.
We even shared a favourite song,
But suddenly our time had gone.
You said elsewhere you had to be,
And could no longer stay with me.
I pleaded, though it was in vain,
And don’t know if we’ll meet again.
My heart pines for the love I lack,
And that lost hour I can’t get back.
But 60 minutes…
