Condiment Comedy at Sally’s Diner
The Vignette Gazette Writer’s Prompt #140-ketchup, mustard
“I’d like to compliment you on your choice of condiments,’’ Sally. “Other diners in town are going to have to ketchup with you.”
“Thanks, Joe. I relish providing my customers with an assortment to choose from.”
“They all complement each other well, like salt and pepper.”
Sally’s Diner had a western theme, with saddles and cowboy hats nestled among the tables.
“We even have ranch dressing, Joe.”
“You provide dresses?”
‘NO, RANCH dressing.”
“Sorry, Sally. I misherd you.”
“So what can I get for you, Joe?”
“I’d like a foot-long hotdog with lots of mustard.”
“Anything to drink?”
“Coffee with cream, sugar.”
“You flirting with me, Joe?”
“I asked for sugar, Sally. I didn’t call you sugar.”
“Shoot! I guess I don’t have crystal clear hearing anymore, either.”
