Where There is Rhyme, There is Reason
In response to the Cuppa’s weekly word prompt: POTION
I had this notion
To create a potion
A liquid concoction
Made with devotion
Not one to poison
But rather to moisten…
A dollop of pine
And a splash of wine
Some petals and buds
And patchouli suds.
Nothing nasty or vile —
Like acid or bile
No tongue of the dog
Or the toe of a frog
Typically brewed
By witches, skewed
To contaminate, scare
As they cackle and sneer
My potion isn’t a dare
But to show I care
To answer a writing prompt
Despite being swamped
The Witching Hour
Isn’t aimed to cower
But to encourage you to write
With all your might!
I’ve given most prompts a go
This? Utter nonsense, I know
But it is Halloween
And creating a scene
Where there’s stewing involved
Had my response resolved
A potion of lotion
Smelling like the ocean…
Can you feel the emotion
In my publication promotion?
