There’s a phase in life marked by delays, uncertainty, unanswered prayers, and circumstances that require patience and endurance.

A phase where we put in the work, hoping for a breakthrough, but the results don’t come as soon as we want them to.

Just like a farmer who plants seeds, hoping that the rains and other necessary conditions will help his crops grow in time for harvest.

There’s not much he can do other than keep watering his plants and doing what’s necessary to improve the chances of a good harvest.

Sometimes, life works the same way. We have a vision or goals we set for ourselves, and we keep doing the work. But no matter how much we try, the results aren’t showing as much as we expected.

This phase can be exhausting, filled with uncertainty about what we might be doing wrong or whether we’re on the right path.

But to me, this phase exists for a reason. You can have a goal, but some of the work required to achieve it might be hidden within your waiting season.

I have been in my waiting season for a while. I found my purpose, which gave me a vision of what I want to achieve. I have been doing the work for almost a year now.

The journey hasn’t been easy, but I am evolving every day, building the necessary foundation before the whole building comes to the surface.

There have been moments of uncertainty when things didn’t work out the way I wanted or when I questioned some of the things I was going through. But I believe the unanswered prayers and delays are part of this phase, and that they can prepare us for what we are aiming to achieve.

There are days when I feel motivated and days when I don’t. Recently, my body has been in more of a relaxed mode after all the work I’ve done so far, and I’ve realized I can’t force myself to keep going at the same pace. I need to take time to relax and recharge while still doing what I can, like writing this article, because it comes from something I am currently experiencing.

Every day is a lesson for me, and no matter how it goes, I try to take something positive from it.

The life I want doesn’t require me to be perfect because I am not perfect. But the least I can do is be the best version of myself.

A version that has outgrown the past, learned from its experiences, and carries those lessons into the future.

No matter how heavy the circumstances might feel, what always keeps me going is the magnitude of my vision. I imagine what it will feel like when everything finally comes together, and I believe it will be worth the wait, no matter how long it takes. I just have to keep going.

There’s a saying: “A diamond is a chunk of coal that did well under pressure.”

For me to become that diamond and fulfil the vision I have, I must be patient enough to endure the pressure that comes with achieving it.

The waiting season isn’t going to be an easy one.

You could be someone praying for the right partner. Despite how easily things might work out for someone else, your journey might require more time and preparation.

Maybe, during your waiting season, you discover things about yourself that need work. These could be things that would help you build a better relationship when the time comes. You might be looking for the right partner while still having things to work on within yourself before you can become the right person for them, too.

You might have other life goals you’ve been working towards, but your prayers seem unanswered, leaving you with uncertainties about what to do next.

Take this moment of delay as a possible stage of preparation. If these life goals of yours eventually come true, will you be ready for them?

Maybe life has given you an opportunity in the past, but you didn’t handle it well. Perhaps you need to go through this phase to learn from that experience. The patience and endurance you develop now might come in handy when you eventually get what you want, especially when you look back at everything you had to go through while waiting.

There’s another saying: “Breakthrough comes when preparation meets alignment.”

You can’t expect a breakthrough without doing the necessary work. When you’re prepared and aligned with your purpose or life goals, opportunities may present themselves from places you least expect.

You can explore different methods or options while in your waiting season. But no matter how difficult things get, try to find some reassurance in knowing that you are still working towards your goals. Hold on to your faith, even when the outcome isn’t clear.

Picture that moment when your goals eventually come true. Imagine how it will feel, and carry that feeling with you every day. Let it motivate you to keep moving forward.

The waiting season may test your patience, challenge your faith, and leave you questioning the path you’re on. But it can also be a time to learn, grow, and build the foundation for what you hope to achieve.

I am still in my waiting season, learning as I go and doing what I can with what I have. I don’t know how long it will last, but I choose to keep working, take time to rest when I need to, and trust that my efforts are not in vain.

Maybe you’re in your own waiting season, too. If you are, remember that you don’t have to have everything figured out today. Keep learning, keep growing, and keep doing what you can.

Your waiting season is part of your story, but it doesn’t have to be where your story stands still.
