Melting
A poem about everything left unsaid
Through my fingertips, a tremor flows,
I discover your world, and it grows.
May I touch your lips? – Yes, you may…
But you’ll melt like ice cream right away.
My heart melts from every kiss,
Filling me with warmth like this.
May I hold your hand? – Either one!
But look out – it’s hot as the sun!
And something explodes in the sky,
You’re my cosmos in my mind’s eye.
Which of us wins? Let fate decide.
We’re equally skilled, side by side.
Let our bodies cool when the storm has passed,
But our eyes will burn hot to the last.
What happened here? – Sorry, you see,
Censorship won’t let one word go free
Of all that I could say right now…
