The world has a way of shouting over you…
Angry words hurled like stones, belittling,
Diminishing, trying to convince you
That you are somehow less than worthy,
That you have no place here.

You look around, and everything seems dark.

The sun has disappeared behind a wall
Of gray clouds, and even the earth
Has grown parched, thirsting for something
It cannot find.

Where has love gone?

Where has compassion fled?

Have kindness and mercy become afraid
To show their faces in a world
Where even goodness sometimes seems dangerous?

You grow weary of fighting the noise.

Weary of defending your worth.

Weary of carrying the weight of a world
That seems determined to make you fall.

And so you do.

Not from weakness, but from sheer exhaustion.

You fall to your knees.
