Seventy degrees Fahrenheit today
With a gentle breeze
Autumn’s kiss before the dark and dank days of November

Everything seems brighter
The skies are a rich blue
Languid summer days are over
The air is fresher
Invigorating
But not yet time for winter apparel

Oh those leaves
Turning brilliant reds and yellows
When the sun’s rays shine upon them
They sparkle as if defiantly alive
Despite knowing these are their final days

Perfect weather for being outside
Daylight savings time is still a few weeks off
Days are shortening but darkness has not won out
Fall flowers are in full bloom

Leaves are falling gently in twos and threes
Dancing as they float to the ground
Most are still hanging on
Cherishing their last taste of this life
November will be time enough for homeowners
To deal with the abundant evidence of their fall into grace
