Tonight was finally October 31st, the day Trodd has been looking forward to for so long. He has been decorating his facade devotedly since August, turning it into an extraordinary haunted house.
He has been digging in his front lawn, planting electric skeletons and bony hands into the soil. Once he turned them on, they frantically crawled out of the pits and grabbed pedestrians’ legs as they walked by.
The smears and splashes of crimson paint on his front door were so real, it was thought that a homicide had occurred. The cobwebs and the collected household lint on the windows were creepy enough to scare kids away.
Last but not least, the gigantic guillotine standing before his porch certainly gave his neighbors goosebumps. He set it up so the foamed blade would drop whenever the minute hand pointed to 12.
The sky was dyed indigo as the sun dipped down the horizon. The Halloween trick-or-treating was about to start. The children would knock on his door at any minute.
