To log ovulation predictor kit (OPK) test results in the Cycle health tracking feature in the Google Health app, refer to Log, edit, or delete Cycle health symptoms. You can log OPK test results in the Google Health app for iPhone, iPad, and Android phones.
Tip: If your OPK provides high or peak fertility results instead of positive or negative results, log a positive OPK test result when you get a peak fertility reading.
Learn how a logged positive or negative test result affects your predicted period and fertile window
When you log a positive OPK test result or a result that indicates an estrogen or luteinizing hormone surge, your fertile window and next predicted period adjust based on your new ovulation day, which is the day after you log the positive test result.
Your future cycle predictions adjust based on the positive OPK test results you log, but past cycles don't change. If you delete a positive OPK test result in the current cycle, your predicted period and estimated fertile window predictions adjust.
If you log a negative or invalid OPK test result, your predicted period and estimated fertile window in the Google Health app remain the same.
Learn why there’s no estimated fertile window after you logged a positive OPK test result
To check your estimated fertile window in the Google Health app after you log a positive OPK test result, note the following:
- If you log more than 2 positive OPK test results in a cycle, the Google Health app can’t provide an estimated fertile window.
Tip: If you log 2 positive OPK test results in a cycle, you must log them on consecutive days.
- If you log a positive OPK test result that causes your fertile window to shift to a different cycle, the Google Health app can’t provide an estimated fertile window.
Your estimated fertile window automatically adjusts based on the cycle data you enter. You can’t edit fertile windows directly.
To turn off fertile window predictions, refer to Edit your Cycle health settings.
- Open the Google Health app
and tap the Health tab
.
- Under “Focus areas,” tap Cycle health to check the calendar with your cycle information.

Explore your cycle trends to find your average period and cycle lengths, cycle variability, and commonly logged symptoms.
To check your Cycle health trends and history:
- Open the Google Health app
and tap the Health tab
.
- Under “Focus areas,” tap Cycle health.
- At the top of the page, tap All time to view your cycle trends and history.
Your cycle trends provide a detailed overview of your reproductive health by analyzing patterns over time.
The Google Health app typically requires at least 3 completed cycles to calculate these trends accurately. Otherwise, it uses the information you provided during setup.
Cycle trends focus on 3 primary metrics to help you understand your body’s unique patterns:
- Cycle length trends: The median number of days between the first day of one period and the first day of the next, calculated over the last 6 months.
- Period length trends: The median number of days your period bleeding lasts, calculated over the last 6 months.
Important: If you have any concerns about your cycle, please consult your healthcare provider.
Google Health uses international clinical guidelines to help you identify when your data falls within a "typical" range or when a trend might be "atypical."
Cycle length
- Typical: A cycle that lasts between 24 and 38 days.
- Atypical: Cycles are considered "frequent" if they’re shorter than 24 days or "infrequent" if they’re longer than 38 days.
Period length
- Typical: An average period that lasts 8 days or fewer.
- Atypical: An average period is considered "prolonged" if it consistently lasts longer than 8 days.
Cycle variability
- Typical: A variation of 4 days or fewer between cycles.
Important:
- Cycle phases are currently available on the Google Health Mobile app for all Android users.
- This feature is not intended to be used as a form of birth control or family planning. For contraception or conception, please consult with a qualified healthcare professional.
The Cycle health feature helps you track your cycle and identify your cycle phases. Cycle phase calculations require the Fertile window and cycle phases predictions to be turned on. If only Period predictions are turned on, you won’t get cycle phase calculations.
You can view whether you’re in the luteal or follicular phase of your cycle by tapping a day in the calendar and viewing information in the bottom sheet for that day.
You can turn off cycle phases when you turn off Fertile windows and cycle phases predictions.
To control your cycle phases:
- Open the Google Health app
.
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Initial.
- Tap Google Health Settings
Cycle health.
- Turn Fertile windows and cycle phases on or off.

Important: You must turn on period predictions to receive period notifications.
Turn on period notifications to receive reminders about your upcoming predicted periods. You should receive a notification 2 days before your period starts and on the first day of your predicted period. You should also have the reminder on your Fitbit device or Pixel Watch in the Google Health Today tab.
For more information about how to turn period notifications on or off, refer to Edit your Cycle health settings.
You can edit the average cycle length and period length you provided during setup. However, these settings only affect your initial predictions.
Keep the following in mind:
- Change your average period length to adjust the length of your initial period predictions. For example, if you change your average period length from 5 days to 8 days, your predictions adjust to reflect this change.
- Edit your average cycle length to adjust the length of your entire cycle. If fertility predictions are on, the predictions for your fertile window and ovulation day adjust based on the length of your cycle.
To change your setup values for average cycle or period length:
- Open the Google Health app
and tap the Health tab
.
- Under “Focus areas,” tap Cycle health
More
More options.
- Turn on Fertility windows.
- Tap Set up values
Period length or Cycle length and adjust the number.
- Confirm your changes.
For some women, the estimated fertile window and period occur on the same day. For more information, refer to Read the Cycle health tracking calendar in the Google Health app.
If you experience bleeding before your period, sometimes known as breakthrough bleeding or spotting, you can track it when you log bleed intensity details. For more information, refer to Log, edit, or delete Cycle health symptoms.
If your period arrives early, add it as a new period. Your future predictions automatically adjust. For more information, refer to Add, edit, or delete a period in the Google Health app.
