Clam is a food item obtained from cobblestone rock hides and the mussel box, and is part of several diets to feed tamed animals.
When a cobblestone rock hide is mined, there is a 10% chance for a single clam to drop instead of the rock hide block. When mined with a Fortune-enchanted tool, this chance increases to 16% at Fortune I, 25% at Fortune II, and 100% at Fortune III. Rock hides mined with Silk Touch never produces clams.
